If you keep GOG Galaxy running constantly, you’ll often notice notifications from the program, like when you receive a message or a friend comes online.
We’re going to show you how to customize which notifications you receive in GOG Galaxy.
How to Enable or Disable Notifications on GOG Galaxy
On GOG Galaxy, you can control which notifications you receive, whether they make a sound, and how they appear.
To begin customizing the notifications:
In the top left, click the cog icon. Click Settings. On the left pane, click Notifications.
Beneath Notifications, you’ll see all the different types of notifications you can receive. For example, when you receive a message, friend invite, game invite, and more.
Use the first dropdown to customize whether the notification appears for Overlay only, Desktop only, or Desktop & overlay. The overlay refers to when you’ve launched a game through GOG Galaxy; desktop notifications will appear no matter what program you’re using, assuming you have the client open.
On the second dropdown, select Sound if you want the notification to play a noise. If you don’t, leave it blank.
Beneath this is the Position & Volume section. You can choose where your notifications appear on the desktop and overlay independently. You can also modify the volume of the notification sounds.
